Picking up where they left off in Northboro, they opened up the Dugout Dawgs Wood Bat Tournament in Cape Cod with yet another rain delay after one inning when the skies opened up early. With the pool play game delayed until Sunday, they waited until 4 PM Saturday to play their first pool game. Joel Culkins locked into a fierce pitching duel against a strong ace on the Ocean State Jr Waves. Back and forth they went for 7 innings scoreless, until the bottom of the 7th , when Derek Arcand delivered a line drive single up the middle for a dramatic walk off Blazers win. Joel pitched a complete game shutout in this classic pitchers duel where both pitchers went the distance. That seemed like a long day until Sunday. The Blazers battled through 2 more pool play games early on Sunday, each time coming from behind to win sending them into the semi finals. In the semi final they rolled to a win and into the championship game against the Cape's Dugout Dawgs. In the championship game, again the Blazers battled back to tie the game late. In a setting sun they threatened to win again in a walk off. Though a 7-6 loss in the final, it was tremendous team performance throughout the tournament as every player made key contributions battling through 5 games in a 28 hour stretch showing no signs of tiring. Parents and spectators were entertained seeing great baseball in all the games played.
